Features
• Pale-yellow, transparent liquid with virtually no odor. Two epoxide groups per molecule build linear and cross-linked networks during cure.
• Miscible with bisphenol-A epoxy resins; delivers the same viscosity reduction as mono-glycidyl ethers while giving cured systems markedly better tensile, flexural, compressive, and impact strengths, plus a longer pot life, all with minimal impact on other physical properties.
• Slows the reaction rate between epoxy resin and curing agent at any given temperature.
• Drawback: potential skin sensitization.
Applications
Primarily used as a reactive diluent for epoxy resins in composites, anticorrosive coatings, solvent-free coatings, laminating, adhesives, transparent epoxy systems for LEDs, and electrical casting applications.
